Le 409
From happy hour to late at night, Le 409 in Old Montréal offers a flavourful diversion off the beaten culinary path.
Montréal restaurateurs Maurice and Paul Holder are behind this unique Indian gastropub along with the Anand family of the popular Indian restaurant, Atma. Backed by 30 years of experience, Chef AJ brings artistry and creativity to a solid menu of Indian classics and fusion cuisine options.
For a light snack or a casual supper, Le 409’s menu of small plates and upscale pubgrub fits the bill. With items ranging from dal and a lamb curry to jambalaya, chicken satay, a fattoush salad, cod accras, and even a butter chicken poutine (naturally!), Le 409 appeals to all palates and diets, vegetarian and vegan included.
Le 409 boasts a clever list of award-winning cocktails, including the “Saketini” and “La Mule d’Orient”. To this, add a varied wine list and a selection of 16 beers on tap.
The restaurant décor offers a surprising “Havana meets Bollywood” feel in a stylish cocktail-club setting. Bright Bollywood posters hang above comfy leather seats and dark hardwood tables in a room dominated by a long, central bar that begs for conversation.
